Founder, Carol Cornelius, grew up in a small town in NE Georgia where sitting around the kitchen table after a meal was the glue that held the family together. Food was the gift you shared, along with stories and tall tales. It’s a very southern tradition and one still held dear to the heart.

Carol’s mother was a legend in the kitchen and Carol found that she too enjoyed cooking as well. Seeing the delight in someone’s eyes after the first bite was the reward for the hours of time she spent in the kitchen creating complex and unique recipes.  Carol channeled her southern background and passion for developing unique flavors to create made from scratch seasonings, rubs, and sauces to share with friends and family.  These flavors were the foundation of Cathead Ted’s.

Cathead, what is that you ask? That is a Southern term for a large biscuit. Once the dough is rolled out and cut, there’s always a mound left, so as not to overwork the dough, a large biscuit is formed. That “Cathead” is the one all the kids fought to get.  For Carol, a cathead represents her authentic southern roots in the kitchen.

Ted, who is this? Ted’s Carol’s Maine Coon Cat, larger than life furry child.  Ted reminds Carol of the importance of surrounding yourself with things you love.  Following that passion in life, Cathead Ted’s was born.
